I'm new here and i'm having problems with SATA HD detection in Debian Linux in this server. I seached around and nothing, couldn't find any driver to install nothing... Can u help me with this? I changed to RAID and nothing...
Hi, first of all, welcome!
If you could give more info (type of machine, what SATA controller?) the advice could be better, but here's a shot at it..
Try booting with a Knoppix boot cd to see if the SATA controller and disks are detected. If so, you'll probably need a newer kernel. Try running the etch installer. (you can still use sarge but you'll need a newer kernel anyway..)
