I am having issues trying to get this script working on my debian install.

The .deb file never got created!  It helps when you:

apt-get install fakeroot

There should be a check for this at the begining of the file as well (like was performed for wget & alien)

WHY???  This is not a depend on any other linux system I have the hsm installed on....

I can't seem to get this package working. I now have the .deb file but I get the following if I remove the dependency on hpasm.

# dpkg -i hpsmh_2.1.4-143_i386.deb

You do need the hpasm package to use the HPsmh. Try removing all of the previously installed HPsmh+HPasm components (and directories), and reinstall all, starting with HPasm, then HPsmh.

cheers

Hi,
I have installed hpasm and when I try to install hpsmh, I get this. Any idea?

I get the following error, when trying to install the deb-pack:

"/opt/hp/hpsmh/sbin/hpsmhd: error while loading shared libraries: libexpat.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

?

@root please purge hpasm and hpsmh.
Code:
dpkg -P hpsmh
dpkg -P hpasm
remove everything in /opt/compaq and /opt/hp.

install hpasm first, then hpsmh.

Hi!

I have the same problem user @root posted above.

I think this happens because the commands "chkconfig", "rc_reset", "rc_status", "rc_exit" etc exist on a SUSE but not on a Debian installation.

Is there any package or any other means that provides these commands to a Debian system?
