DL320 Sarge Install Problem U320 SCSI SmartArray 6i
« on: August 28, 2006, 03:35:08 pm »

I'm trying to install sarge 3.1 on a DL320 that has a smart array 6i in the PCI slot.      What ends up happening is I get the following

HP CISS Driver (v 2.6.2)
cciss: Device 0x46 has been found at bus 0 dev 7 func 0
cciss: controller appears to be disabled
cciss: probe of 0000:00:07.0 failed with error -1

i'm using linux26, and expert26 to boot the system for install.   I've installed several DL380's with the same RAID Controller.

I've installed on this host previously Windows Server 2003, and I'm itching to get rid of it.

Any suggestions.

It appears to be a motherboard problem.     The device is no longer seen.
